While I’m not writing poetry as much as I used to (in particular dark poetry), I did write a new piece for TBM Horror Experts. The link is here.
I’ve switched gears and having been focusing on fiction. My supernatural book is coming along nicely and I’m currently working through what I hope is my last big draft. I still have some scenes to work out but I’m getting there. I even have a working synopsis.
Growing up, Rae never knew her father, and that was okay, or that’s what she would tell herself. Her mother had been all of the family she ever needed. When she moves to Vancouver to start a new life, she connects with an old family friend and begins to learn the truth behind her father’s absence. When he unexpectedly reappears, Rae finds herself in the middle of a personal and deadly feud and realizes that the world that she thought she knew is about to become a lot bigger.
I’m still stuck around 26,000 words, hence the novella idea. I’m the worst when it comes expanding on my scenes, as I tend to be in “edit mode” the whole time. Once I work though this draft, I will probably go back and try to fix it. Either way, I’m really happy with how it’s turning out.
So, what are you guys all up to? Feel free to leave a comment and let me know. 🙂
Have a great day.
